- Total Safety Ownership: Own plant safety compliance entirely, driving a zero-injury mindset and actively managing the Plant Safety Committee.
- Production & Labor Planning: Plan and organize daily manufacturing activities, production scheduling, material control, and labor needs to hit output goals.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage Production Supervisors and oversee scheduling, workload distribution, and performance management for your direct and indirect reports.
- Employee Relations: Foster a culture of mutual respect and ensure fair, consistent application of the employee handbook across all shifts.
- Quality Control: Ensure all production processes meet or exceed strict quality standards and customer expectations, and partner with the quality team to complete root cause analysis.
- Continuous Improvement & 5S: Drive plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives, 5S standards, and overall facility cleanliness.
- Training & Development: Implement and execute a robust plant training plan and skills matrix to support employee growth and development.
- HR & Policy Administration: Handle workforce scheduling, attendance, policy enforcement, and disciplinary actions or terminations when necessary.
- Environmental Champion: Take ownership of specialized plant environmental programs.
- Reporting & Project Management: Complete regular operational reporting functions and keep plant projects running smoothly and on schedule.
REQUIREMENTS for the Production Manager:
1. Minimum of a high school diploma; post education is preferred
2. Depending on level of education, at least 3-5 years of similar production management experience
4. Strong continuous improvement background with proven examples of scrap reductions, efficiency improvements, etc.
