- Support the company culture by onboarding newly acquired companies
- Build rapport and establish relationships with owners and site managers
- Foster an environment that supports the needs of the employees
- Answer staff questions related to benefits and assist with benefit resolution
- Complete compliance audits on newly acquired businesses, make recommendations and establish a plan for consistency
- Continue to learn about HR law and compliance in order to service all assigned locations and ensure that HR compliance is being met within multiple states and Canada
- Communicate at executive, manager and staff levels to resolve HR inquiries and concerns
- Coach and mentor staff on HR-related concerns
- Oversee recruitment plans for multiple sites
- Establish and improve HR practices based on data analysis
- With assistance from each site, manage the day-to-day HR operations
- Oversite of FMLA and disability initiatives for assigned locations
- Utilize the company HRIS for all documentation and reporting
- Assist with payroll implementation
- Lead and conduct employee relations, including any needed investigations and resolving employee conflict
- Complete daily HR functions as needed to support the team
- Manage multiple HR projects at a time
- Complete additional tasks as assigned
Requirements for the Human Resources Generalist:
1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human resources-related discipline
2. 3–5 years of HR generalist experience
3. Proven experience in HR within manufacturing, distribution and/or warehousing environments
4. Broad HR expertise, including recruitment, compliance, employment law, employee relations, benefits administration, etc.
5. Willingness to travel up to 50% initially, with long-term travel averaging 25–30%
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word and Excel
1. PHR or SPHR certification
2. HRIS system experience
Candidates are preferred to be local to the Piqua, Ohio area. There is not a relocation package available at this time.
