Due to growth and realignment of responsibilities, manufacturer is adding a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to their established engineering team. As the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you will report to the Plant Manager and will lead a team of engineers focused on optimizing processes. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Lead, coach and mentor the engineering team
- Manage day-to-day production engineering needs
- Work with sales to communicate with customers on the manufacturability of products and design changes
- Improve manufacturing processes by eliminating bottlenecks, improving throughput, etc.
- Champion team and individual engineering projects to completion
- Oversee applications and design engineering tasks
- Communicate with vendors and internal partners on quality issues
- Determine manufacturability of current and future products
- Partner with operations and quality team members to analyze and determine quality issues, including utilization of formal problem solving
- Ensure all engineering documents are up to date, including ECNs, manuals, work instructions, etc.
- Develop, monitor and improve engineering KPIs
- Other duties as delegated by management
This position has the potential to be hands-on when needed and requires qualified candidates to spend up to 20% of their time on the manufacturing floor. Individuals should be flexible with their work requirements, foster a team-oriented work environment, initiate interdepartmental communication, be patient, have good leadership skills and be willing to evolve in this position.

REQUIREMENTS for the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering:
1. A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred, but not required, and at least 3-5 years in a similar engineering leadership position

4. A proven track record of continuous improvements, including eliminating bottlenecks, throughput improvements, etc.
5. The ability to review blueprints/drawings for manufacturing feasibility
6. ERP experience
7. Mechanical aptitude
8. Technical writing capabilities
9. 2D and/or 3D software experience
10. Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills related to charts, graphs and formulas
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Inventor software
2. Welding and fabrication experience
3. OEM experience
